Identical Strangers with Same Job and Name Take DNA Test to Discover If They’re Long-Lost Brothers

Two red-haired baseball players named Brady Feigl, with identical looks and jobs, take a DNA test to uncover if they're long-lost brothers.

We’ve all heard about doppelgängers – people who look eerily similar but have no connection whatsoever. But what if that resemblance goes beyond just looks? Meet Brady Feigl and, well, Brady Feigl. Their uncanny similarities go far beyond the usual double-take.

Both Bradys are 6’4″ tall, red-haired, red-bearded baseball players who wear glasses. The parallels are so jaw-dropping that you’d be forgiven for thinking they were long-lost twins. And as if that weren’t enough, they also share the same first and last name. Cue the Twilight Zone theme music.

The story starts with a mix-up worthy of a sitcom. In 2015, both Bradys underwent the same elbow surgery, performed by the same doctor, Dr. James Andrews. This led to some confusion at the clinic. “I was about six months out of surgery,” one of the Bradys explained, “and their office called our trainer asking when I was coming in for my procedure. Turns out, they had the wrong Brady Feigl.”

Fast forward to 2017, and the University of Missouri baseball team accidentally tagged the wrong Brady Feigl in a birthday post on social media. “Wrong Brady Feigl,” the older one replied with a good-natured chuckle, tagging his namesake in the process. This online interaction marked the beginning of a bizarre friendship.

Faced with their baffling similarities, the two decided to settle the matter once and for all. They took a DNA test to uncover whether they were, in fact, long-lost brothers. The results? Drumroll, please… They aren’t related. Not even a little. In some ways, that’s the most surprising twist of all.

Though the DNA test ruled out any familial connection, it did reveal some intriguing insights into their heritage. Both Bradys have 53% Germanic ancestry, tracing their roots back to immigrants who likely passed through Ellis Island. Beyond that, their genetic makeup starts to diverge. One Brady has 10% Irish and Scottish heritage, while the other clocks in at just 2%. The red hair might have something to do with those Celtic genes, though. One also has 4% Italian ancestry, while the other has none at all.

Despite the lack of biological ties, the Bradys have embraced their strange connection. “We’re still brothers in a way,” one said. Their story gained national attention after an appearance on Inside Edition, and it’s safe to say that neither of them has experienced anything quite like it before. “Now, when I’m out in public, people recognize me and ask, ‘How’s the other Brady Feigl doing?’ It’s been fun,” one Brady shared.

The tale of the two Brady Feigls is a reminder that life is full of odd coincidences. How many people can say they’ve found their real-life double, let alone someone with the same name, job, and striking resemblance? And while they didn’t discover a long-lost sibling, they did gain a lifelong connection and a unique story that continues to fascinate the public.

Let’s be honest – having a twin without the sibling rivalry doesn’t sound like a bad deal at all.
